Posting this on the Yahoo list, too...
I was just flying through Denver, singing Christmas Carols (specifically, "O Little Town of Bethlehem"), and an idea struck me. So I'm doing it...
I took a 757-200 with winglets (yes, it's a TCA 757-200, and yes, I have added winglets to it! Not difficult, actually...), and started off at the gate at Lehigh Valley International Airport (KABE), which is the airport serving Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. From there I am currently en route (Just SE of Iceland) to Stansted, which is the closest airport to-- Bethlehem University in Hertfordshire.
From Stansted, I am going to fly off to either Trencin or Sliac, which are the closest airports to Rajecka Lesna, the home of the Slovak Bethlehem.
From Slovakia, it's down to Ben-Gurion Airport, the closest open airport to the real Bethlehem (Jerusalem's airport is closer, but has sadly been closed for the last 6 years due to terrorism concerns).
It occurred to me that the Bethlehem to Bethlehem to Bethlehem to Bethlehem Pilgrimage would make a great "Group Event" for the season, or at least a few of you at a time could fly the routes together in the spirit of the season. As for me, my connection is never stable enough to do online flights at the moment, but I am flying the route under the callsign "Tradewind 1225."
Happy Holidays to y'all, and happy flying!
