For the MS
FS2004 Beechcraft D18S |
By Milton Shupe, Scott Thomas, and André
Folkers (With the
invaluable help of Nick Pike on the xml gauge programming!) The D18 is a relatively simple and straight forward panel. Much like the qualities that contributed to making the D18 such a classic, and why so many are still flying today! We recommend that you read over all the Documents included in the package, and familiarize yourself with all the Panel Documents and jpegs. Special Thanks! We would like to extend a
special thanks to the following folks whose great help and contribution to
this, and all of our panel projects:
·
Nick Pike for his gauges and invaluable
help with (Scott’s) gauge programming
·
Dai
·
Arne Bartels and Bill Leaming
for all the help they offer the freeware community
·
Dan Baisley for
use of his King DME. A very nice vintage DME gauge ·
FPDA for their
Gear Wind Gauge. Yep, It’s an oldie but goodie!
·
Al J Sibley for taking the cockpit photos, that we saw fit
to forget to take, and allowing use of them! LOL!
·
North Carolina Aviation Museum in Asheboro,
North Carolina for allowing us to photograph their C45
·
Confederate Air Force, New Mexico Wing,
Hobbs, NM, for allowing us to
photograph their Beech 18

· General Notes·
The start system requires both battery
switches be on to function. It is
recommended that the Right engine be started first as the pilot cannot really
hear the right engine too well once the left engine is started! ·
When starting using
CTRL+E, the start switches
wont move. Only the Mag switches and main power
switches. · Interior Light Switch is a cabin light in the VC Only, and may also be used to brighten the Day VC panel lighting. · The levers and knobs on the pedestal are clickable, and move with their associated function · Radio Compass: Directional Indicator for ADF 1 and either ADF 2 or NAV 1. There is no Nav 2 on this aircraft. · DME: Reads Nav 1. Can be switched to read Knots or Minutes. (Thanks to Dan Baisley!) · The Park Brake light may be clicked to set the Parking Brake |
