You have a wide screen monitor and you start FSX. First, the splash screen is shifted to one side of the screen. Then a 2D panel from an older plane is stretched and the gauges are oval instead of round.

Add this line to the [Display] section of the FSX.cfg file:

WideViewAspect=True

Next time everything will look normal on the wide screen. You can find the FSX.cfg file in documents and settings/user???/application data/microsoft/FSX.

Hey Rick

Does this also work for FS9. Got a 24" for Christmas,and really love the view, but still with previous version of flight sim.

Thanks,

Joey MacK

Joey,
So far I haven't found the key for FS9. This same entry in the FS9 config doesn't make the 2D panels appear at a normal ratio. I'm still hunting for the solution.
