Hi racing fans.

Thanks to Bert van Halteren for the heads up on the F-1 Season start. Indeed this season will see some very long flights and especially the first flight to Bahrain is a very long flight and this is the only flight where the B744 is recommended as only available aircraft. We don’t have many aircraft in the hangars, which are capable to make these flights with the given PAX-count without a fuel-stop.

Talking indirectly of fuel burn and available range, this might be of some interest for those flying the B744 from PMDG. There is a way to ‘increase’ the range to match the original values. Obviously the new values have been verified on a flight using the actual given circumstances of a Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt to Los Angeles. The correct weight was set and the weather was adjusted to the original weather of the flight several times and this brought to light that the fuel burn on the PMDG model is too high. Setting it to 0.99 (fuel_flow_scalar=0.99) instead leaving it at 1.07 gives a much more realistic fuel burn. If somebody is interested in the original report here is the link (in German):

But now back to the F-1 Season. In the documentation of the flights I will make a recommendation of possible aircrafts. Do not take these as 'you have to use these', because as I said these are only recommendations. Of course you can use any aircraft in our inventory that is capable of making these flights with the given values (mainly PAX counts). Don't worry about aircraft able to take the passengers, but aren't as fast as the aircraft on which the flight plans are based on. These are all Charter flights and no passenger will have a connection flight just a few minutes after the scheduled arrival (mainly on the flight back, but not meaning Curacao), but if he/she might have such a flight, that will be solely their own problem/risk. Biggrin
There will be recommendations for the following aircrafts: B744, B763 and MD-11.
And you will go to the following airports: KEWR, KIAD, KSEA, KTPA, KMCI, KSAN, TJSJ, KMIA, KCVG, TBPB, KSFO, SVMI, KLAS, OBBI, PHNL, YMML, WMKK, ZSPD, LEMD, LFMN, LTFJ, CYUL, LEVC, EGKK, EDSB, EBLG, LIRF, LHBP, WSSS, PANC, RJNA, RKSI, SBGR, FYWH, OMAA and BIKF. Of course each and every Charter flight has its origin at Curacao. Some of the flights will last for about two weeks as the races are merged together to enable you to make all the flights in sequence (if you like to do so).

If you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask them.

Now I wish you all some pleasant flights. Enjoy them and have fun.
