Hi guys,

Well, we had another MP Session last night (European time Biggrin) and the good news is that Pär was joining us again, but he still was not feeling as good as it would be good at all. Also Stefaan was back with us, but somehow on an other assignment for TCA Alaska performing a flight for the Iditarod race. Dave was also doing such a flight. This meant that only Pär and me were doing the real MP flight.

The flight today would lead us from McGrath via Talkeetna (PATK), intersections FRIDA and WINOR to Red Devil (RDV). Then we would continue to Aniak (PANI) and via intersection CABOT to Akiachak (KKI), Hangar Lake (Z58), Bethel (Z59) and Bethel (PABE) to SQA and finally to Sparrevohn LRRS (PASV).
Here is a map of the route:

I am lined up at McGrath's runway 16, whilst Pär is taxiing past me in his Quest Kodiak.
[attachment=3242]

After takeoff we climbed to at least 11000 feet and enjoyed the mountains around us.
[attachment=3243]
[attachment=3244]

First touch and go at Talkeetna and here I am on short final trying to align with the runway.
[attachment=3245]

In the air again accelerating and climbing out, circling and checking out Pär.
[attachment=3246]
[attachment=3247]

Pär seems to be only a shadow of himself. Rofl

Climbing out.

In the meantime Pär had to quit due to his health problems - I hope you will be feeling much better next weekend my friendFriends

So to say it was only me flying the MP Session, but nevertheless Dave was heading from Anchorage to Nome in a DHC7 and he thought it would be fast enough to close in to me. Man was he wrong. Even at 2x time he was not able to close in.Biggrin

OK, here I am closing in to Rainy Pass.
[attachment=3251]

And buzzing by and with a right turn into a mountain valley...
[attachment=3252]
[attachment=3253]

Staying low inside the valleys.
[attachment=3254]

Closing in to Rohn/Tatitna.
[attachment=3255]

There it is:

[attachment=3257]

Next was Farewell , but only in some distance.
[attachment=3258]

Then Dave made a mistake and told me he could see my callsign.Rofl
OK, time for an intercept...and there he is!
[attachment=3259]
[attachment=3260]
[attachment=3261]

Next it was time to head on to Red Devil and say good bye to Dave.
[attachment=3262]

And there it is: Red Devil
[attachment=3263]
[attachment=3264]

Next touch and go was at Aniak.
[attachment=3265]

Bethel (Z59) in light snow.
[attachment=3266]
[attachment=3267]

Bethel (PABE) on my left hand wing.
[attachment=3268]

Short final to RWY 18 for a full stop. My FW190D9 was very thirsty today, which was fine with me as I throttled her up quite oftenYes
[attachment=3269]

After refueling I headed to Sparrevohn at app. 19680 feet (6000 meter).
[attachment=3271]
[attachment=3272]

There you can see Sparrevohn and it seems to be an interesting approach.
[attachment=3273]

Descending over the hill towards the runway.
[attachment=3274]

OK nice, I made it to the apron.
[attachment=3275]

I hope that you all will be joining us again next week and that hopefully Vic has solved his computer problems.

This said it is time to wish you all a nice Sunday and an even better week.
Some of my screenshots of this session

I planned a leg I had to fly for the Iditarod during MP.
My leg took me from Anchorage to Nome cruising at FL220.

Leaving Anchorage from RWY14 with the Hercules C-130 L100-30
[attachment=3276]

And soon crusing at FL220 near Rainy Pass
[attachment=3277]

[attachment=3278]

In between McGrath and Talkeetna I passed Dave in his Dash-7 who was flying from Nome to Anchorage cruising at FL210.
Christian and Par were also in the neighbourhood but much lower.
[attachment=3279]

Arriving at Nome, pretty low visibility - 3SM with winds 100/12.
So I set up for a right downwind to RWY10
[attachment=3280]

[attachment=3281]

.... trying to get visual on the runway, using the VOR RWY10 approach for reference
[attachment=3282]

... there it is, otto off and getting hercky in by hand
[attachment=3283]

a tad high, so going in military style :-)
[attachment=3284]

looks like a nice approach
