Hi fellow pilots. Leg 68 lead us from Stornoway to Dornoch airfield. Dornoch isn't part of either FS9 or FSX default scenery. According to Pär there should be a scenery available for Dornoch and some other airfields we will pass soon for FSX. But for FS9 I had to create my own scenery. that was no big deal at all as with ADE this is done within a few minutes. Along with some testing it revealed that it is not compatible with FS9 default, as the runway will extend into the water, but I am using All Roads of Europe, which has corrected coastlines and so it was no problem. But you will find out at the end of this report. Yes

First we will start with the map of the route today:

The only pilot joining me today was Dave and he was flying in FS8 (FS2002) a wonderful MD-17 in TCA livery. I showed him as a C-17 in the colors of the US Air Force.
[attachment=4352]

Looking a little bit around at Stornoway. I am glad that I managed to transfer my FW190D9 here just in time.
[attachment=4353]

Taxi out to runway 18 for takeoff.
[attachment=4354]

Dave seems to have a quite different layout of the field.
[attachment=4355]

Airborne. At the beginning of the Session which took place around 1200Z Sim-time, the weather was not the best with low clouds and rain.
[attachment=4356]

But later on it cleared up a little bit.
[attachment=4357]

A little bit of low level flying enroute to Stronsay (EGER).
[attachment=4358]

There it is: Stronsay. You barely can see the runway.
[attachment=4359]

Passing Westray (EGEW) for the first touch and go.
[attachment=4360]

And what should I say? My aircraft was still heavy and the runway was rather short resulting a late touch down and a quick up again.

Next airfield that we only passed was Sanday (EGES).
[attachment=4361]

Next airfield was North Ronaldsay (EGEN).
[attachment=4362]

Here I am on approach to the runway at Unst (EGPW)
[attachment=4363]
[attachment=4364]

That was the final picture before FS9 crashed and I had to reboot FS9. Scatsta (EGPM).
[attachment=4365]

A couple of minutes later I was back in the Sim and continued with the approach to Scatsta.
[attachment=4366]

Well, I think this must be Whalsay (EGEH)...
[attachment=4367]

On approach to Sumburgh (EGPB).
[attachment=4368]

I have completed my touch and go and Dave is approaching the runway as well.
[attachment=4369]
[attachment=4370]

Next we passed Fair Isle (EGEF).
[attachment=4371]

The next touch and go was planned at Kirkwall (EGPA).
[attachment=4372]

Dave still behind me.
[attachment=4373]
[attachment=4374]

Dornoch!
[attachment=4375]

Later I discovered that I had landed downwind...Ashamed I am not sure for what reason I also put a windsock there...
[attachment=4376]

Nevertheless here I am and Dave will join me later - somehow!

[attachment=4380]

OK, here we are and next week we will continue...

Dave had also taken some pictures, which I will upload later on.
I somehow remember this panel very well...
[attachment=4382]

I also remember the livery.
[attachment=4383]

Dave is mainly following the 'leader'.

Lovely shots from you both - Christian I love your aircraft, is it a Fw190D or a Ta152?

Hi Steve.

It is indeed the FW190D9. A very nice aircraft to fly. and the only payware aircraft for VFR flying that I fly the most as it gives me so much fun.
