Again a long stretch over the Tasmanian Sea, so I opted for a multi-engine airplane.
And a very beautifull vintage DC-6B, N37568 United was awaiting us at the apron.

All fueled up, engines and systems running and ready to leave Nelson NZ

Overhead some of New Zealands' South Island peaks before we start the crossing of the Tasmanian Sea.

The whole stretch gave us rather heavy clouds and pretty strong winds.

Arriving over Australia again, the clouds got a bit less dense with milder winds

Turning base for a manual approach to RWY 13R
This vintage bird is such a joy to fly by hand, such a rewarding feeling of controlling a big airliner from the golden age of Prop's accompanied by a heavy sound coupled to my Dolby Surround with subwoofer Clapping

Wow Stefaan.

Very impressive report with a great aircraft. I think PMDG is working on a DC-6.
