We're given special clearance not to line up in the queue that's already lined up on this busy sunday at Frankfurt, but we can slip in before the Malev flight.

Climbing out on the BIBOS7E departure

[attachment=5146]

[attachment=5160]

Various shades of clouds over Frankfurt today...
[attachment=5147]

South of Iceland near waypoint 5720N of the Atlantic Track, our center tank is empty and we turn off the center pumps so fuel will be fed from the main tanks 2 and 3 from now on (followed by Reserve 2 and 3)
[attachment=5149] --> [attachment=5148]

Just past waypoint 5840N and step-climbing to FL360 out of FL340
[attachment=5150]

[attachment=5151]

Passing Thunder Bay YQT, the fuel level has reached as good as an equilibrium between the four main tanks so we switch to the 'Tank to Engine' setup; each main tank feeding its own engine (crossfeed valves between 2 and 3 active)
[attachment=5152]

The arrival is the PYE1 directing us from our last enroute waypoint SAC (Sacramento) around SFO (San Francisco) towards Moffet Field, our destination.
[attachment=5162]

Descending between STINS and HADLY intersection we pass the Golden Gate Bridge
[attachment=5153]

Moffet Field ahead near the lake
[attachment=5154]

Weather at Moffet Field: 01004KT 10+SM SCATTERED 15.0/11.0 29.97inHg
We are assigned the ILS RW32R for approach
[attachment=5163]

On final to RW32R
[attachment=5155]

Nice clear weather, so at 1000ft we disengaged the autopilot and fly the aircraft in by hand.
Quite some traffic inbound to San Franscisco International (towards the left upper corner)
[attachment=5156]

Touchdown followed by a smooth roll out on the long runway.
At 2159Z, we're 'blocks on' at Nasa Ames Research Center after a little less than 12 hours of flight

Total flying time: 11h53'
Fuel remaining: 36.400 lbs for a total usage of: 270.900 lbs
