I downloaded the 2nd suggestion on the above forum, the one that not only finds the alpha channel problem but fixes it. I tried it last night with only a few minutes to work on it. It appears to have doubled my FPS on FS9, I'll know more later when I can check it out more thoroughly. It seems to make sense in the forum description and is worth a try.

Okay! AFter a couple of flights after using the DXT3 device this is my evaluation. It doubled my FPS on the ground, not much difference in the air. That's probably due to cloud cover not being affected by the DXT3. It's very easy to use, clicks off the screen when it's done, I think that it's worth a look
