MP Leg 053 0Q5-KMMH - RedBaron - 05-07-2011

Hi guys.

Todays flight will lead us from Shelter Cove to Mammoth Yosemite (KMMH).
Have a look at the map.

OK, here we are all parked at Shelter Cove. Next to me is Stefaan in his PC-12 followed by Dave in his DHC-6 Twin Otter and last but not least Vic, displayed in a Quest Kodiak.

And off we go, heading for Fort Bragg (8Q3). Vic is finally about to takeoff Biggrin

Well, Fort Bragg, what should I say about this nice little airfield? It has a rather narrow runway. Holy s..t was it narrow. It easily could fit between my landing gear...

On the other hand Little River (O48) has a much bigger runway. I somehow expected it the other way around. Rofl

The gang is arriving at Little River as well.

Enroute to Gunnersfield Ranch. I hope they don't shoot at us - with that name in mind... If so I will shoot back. Rofl

Did I mention the really nice weather during the whole flight already? Well, we had really nice weather for flying today. Big_boss

And there it is: Gunners Ranch. Looks quiet.

The group is behind me.

Passing Stefaan.

Next was Oroville, although it was not part of the flightplan today, but we didn't care. Beach

Then we set course for Reno/Tahoe (KRNO).

There it is:

The gang is still with me...

Touch and go performed:

Stefaan is performing his touch and go right now.

Vic is about to leave us here. He told us something about having an appointment - it surely was a poker game.RoflYes
Unfortunately his aircraft is covered by my aircraft. Cray

So, only three of us were left for the remainder of the flight.

Next I am closing in to Bryant (O57).

And there it is. I circled the area a little bit to wait for Stefaan and Dave.

And performed my touch and go.

Dave is coming.

On the other side of the lake there is Lee Vining (O24) where we will fly to soon...

OK, everybody is still there.

To be continued...

RE: MP Leg 053 0Q5-KMMH - RedBaron - 05-08-2011

And we are nearing our destination, but first another touch and go at North Valley (9CA6).

Another one at Circle L Ranch (2Q7).

Only overflying Dyer (2Q9)

Stefaan:

Enroute to Lee Vining now.

I was approaching RWY 14 and saw Dave, what appeared to be in some distance giving me enough time to perform my touch and go. Damned was I wrong!

That was a near miss. I was watching my departure from Lee Vining as I heard another engine sound and Dave buzzed by. Good thing I was right of the centerline...

Another picture of Stefaan's PC-12.

And here we are at Mammoth. Dave has finally landed.

Stefaan is already there.

And here we are all.

I have to admit that it was a very good MP Session again. Although it was rather long once more with a block to block time of 2:55 for me.

Hope to see you all back next Saturday.

Taking off from Shelter Cove

First TG at Fort Bragg... they definitely don't have to 'bragg' about their runway... or rather line :-)
Christian and Dave behind

Already arrived at Reno KRNO here.
Vic had to take a full stop here to end the session, but Vic, it was very nice to have you around again.

Setting up for TG at Bryant O57, first airport in the Yosemite Area

.... followed by NV27 Dyer, Circle L Ranch

.... and Lee Vining O24

Then I followed the valley to our final destination, Mammoth Yosemite KMMH...

Picking up the 395 Highway which leads us there...

Nice shots, Stefaan and CB. I think at Fort Bragg I would just land in the grass! :)
