Business Charter from Las Vegas to Kahului (Maui) - CBreuer - 07-24-2011

Tradewind Bizjetz had been chartered to make a flight from Las Vegas to Kahului Airport on Maui. The assigned aircraft would be a B767-300ER(W), P4-MES, better known as 'the Bandit'.
We will be carrying 34 passengers along with 8950 kg of cargo, which includes the one or other car as well. Our scheduled departure time would be at 2000Z on July 22nd. According to the Load-sheet
.txt   LOADSHEET - 9767 KLAS-PHOG 22JUL11.txt (Size: 1.56 KB / Downloads: 2) we will be expecting a ZFW of 101.8 tons, along with 34 tons of fuel, of which we will burn 500 kg during taxi out, our takeoff weight would be around 135.4 tons.
Detailed flightplan:

OK, after we had picked up all our papers we headed out to the aircraft which was parked on concourse D Gate 26 and is serviced at the moment of our arrival:

Part of the Las Vegas 'Strip' in the background:

After the aircraft had been cleaned, fueled, loaded and the passengers boarded the 'Bandit', we were ready to go a few minutes ahead of scheduled departure.

At 1949Z we were pushed back and engine start commenced with starting engine No. 2 first:

Our ground handler at work:

Engine start of No. 1:

Push back is completed:

After the 'wave' of our ground handler we are ready to go.

Passing by a parked Omni Air International B757.

Checking free movement of the control surfaces:

OK, time for our takeoff briefing. We would perform a flaps-5 takeoff with a de-rated TO1 thrust of 46°C making for a V1 of 139, Vr 143 and V2 of 148 knots.
.txt   TAKE-OFF RESULTS 9767 KLAS RWY25R 22JUL11.txt (Size: 1.27 KB / Downloads: 1) Departure would be from runway 25R on a BOACH2 (NAV-database in the FMC and BOACH3 on the newer charts) RNAV departure. We had been cleared to 7000 by ATC, which was really good as we were light on the departure.

But first we had to be patient and wait for some other traffic to depart.

It went really quick at all...

With more to go behind us.On_the_quiet

Then it finally was us to enter the runway:

Throttling up:

Eighty! -Checked!

Initial climb and picking up the crosswind (220/13G21).

Leaving Las Vegas.

Coming up to RBELL intersection.

Climbing out following our departure.

The moon somewhere to the north.

Following the Hector transition inbound to HEC.

Our FMC:

Leveling off at FL360 just before HEC.

And right turn over HEC to join airway J6 to Palmdale.

Passing by at Victorville (Southern California Logistics KVCV).

Step climb to FL380.

Inbound to San Marcus VOR.

Passing by San Marcus now, 3 minutes ahead of schedule.

Heading out over the Pacific inbound DINTY intersection.

After some 4.5 hours later we are closing in to Kahului (PHOG) about 25 more minutes to fly already descending out of FL400, to which we climbed some time earlier.

Time for our approach briefing:
We would arrive via the Maui VOR (OGG) and fly to the initial approach fix HARPO and enter the short base leg mainly flown with a constant bank angle and intercept the localizer for runway 02. The
.txt   LANDING RESULTS 9767 PHOG RWY02 22JUL11.txt (Size: 1.05 KB / Downloads: 1) opted for Autobrakes set to 3 on an autolanding, but I opted to land by hand and so I selected for Autobrakes set to 4.

Kahului airport ahead of us.

We are too high, hence the speed brakes are deployed.

Passing HARPO intersection.

Final for runway 02 with US Air flight 432 in front of us on short final.

We had landed and we are now taxiing to the ramp and in the foreground you can see the runway textures disappearing. Confused Nevertheless this Hawaiian Airports Vol. 2 is a great addition to the Flight Simulator.

Here we are after a flying time of 5:30 and a block to block time of 5:49. Upon arrival at the gate and shutdown we had still 9 tons of fuel remaining which should have been 9.9 tons according to the flightplan.

OK, here we are now and now it is time to head out to the beach.

Sceneries used: FSDT Las Vegas and Hawaiian Airports Vol. 2
Flight Operation Center used for flight planning.
Aircraft: Level-D B767-300ER Winglet with textures for P4-MES Tradewind Bizjetz, which can be found in our hangars.

I hope you enjoyed the report as much i enjoyed making this flight.
