Charter UUEE Sheremetyevo Moscow to Havana Cuba - TCA2050 - 05-11-2013

Yesterday I flew an Aeroflot line from Jose Marti Intl, Havana - Cuba to Sheremetyevo Intl, Moscow - Russian Federation.
Today I flew the return flight to Cuba, based on a real Aeroflot flightplan and decided to illustrate it a bit :-)

Aeroflot uses the Airbus A330 on this route, but I decided to go for the McDonnel Douglas MD11 by PMDG in our Tradewind Caribbean livery, PJ-LAB.

Total Block to block time: 12 hr 20 min

Total Fuel used: 208.300 lbs
Using live weather with AS2012

Times are ZULU
[UUEE dep 0720 - MUHA arr 1920] - FL300/320/340/360/380

Route: DB B964 KOLPI B160 SPB B141 KO B965 LEDUN UN872 ELPIR UL24 VIBEP UP855 AGIXA UP855 TOGMI P855 SOLKA 68N000E 69N010W 69N020W 68N030W 65N040W 62N050W MOATT YDP J582 PQI J49 BGR J79 LFV J174 ORF J121 WEAVR J193 ILM AR17 VKZ MTH G448 TADPO

Dep: RW25L AR25E (AJ1E)
Arr: FARAC1 ILS RW06

Sheremetyevo Airport:

We've been pushed back and are preparing to taxi

ATC gave us the RW25L for take off followed by the AR25E (AJ1E) departure

Holding short at RW25L awaiting line up and take off clearance

Climbing out and joining the AR25E (AJ1E) departure

Cruising at FL300, our first target level, we fly over St Petersburg where we change course to head over Finland and Sweden

Quite a bit later, meanwhile stepped through FL320/340 to FL360, we're about to leave Greenland behind and cross the Davis Strait towards Canada

Along the US East Coast over Martha's Vineyard

Meanwhile stepclimbed to our final level, FL380, we're passing over the Fort Lauderdale / Miami area

Over Miami turning towards the Florida Keys

Shortly thereafter we're already descending through FL250 on the FARAC1 arrival into Havana

Habana Vieja - Old Havana near the inlet

Catedral de San Cristobal de la Habana

Over FARAC intersection we turn towards AVSAK intersection, where we will enter our approach to the ILS RW06 that's in use
You'll notice we're slightly high here but nothing of concern.

Over AVSAK, turning towards D7.0 UHA to intercept the localizer to RW06.

Setting up for localiser and glideslope capture

Short final to RW06, disconnected the autopilot at about 1.000ft to fly in by hand, visibility permitting and with a great view of Jose Marti Intl. airport

Leaving the runway and cleaning up the aircraft while taxing to the gate.

...Parked at Gate 11 and deboarding can begin ;-)

Now of to the Bodeguita del Medio, the favourite bar of the late Ernest Hemingway, and home of the true Mojito

Hi Stefaan.

Very good report and very nice pictures. But why is the wing in the picture taken over Miami so strange looking?

I hope the charter passengers of the F1 Charter don't miss their aircraft Monday morning to get home Biggrin

Great story and photos Stefaan!

By the way, wondering where you got the Aeroflot flight plan? Always interested in trying real-world routes.

Best regards,

Vic
