TA2271 DEN BZN - TCA2050 - 11-03-2014 Instead of the 738, this time we flew the route with the CRJ200. Aircraft: CRJ200 (N507CA lease) Total Block to block time: 1 hr 44 min Total Fuel used: 3.800 lbs Using live weather with FSGRW [DEN dep 1534Z - BZN arr 1718Z] - FL280 Route: FISAR BOY BZN Dep: RW17R DEN7 Arr: ILS RW12 Some shots leaving Denver, Co, and climbing to our cruise altitude of FL280. Some degree of manual control is needed, no autothrottle here and you have to plan the descent also old school by the rules we've all learned in the early days of Flightsimming. However this is a very nice simulation of this little aircraft, definitely a keeper in my hanger... and preferably outside ;-) Sim: X-Plane 10.30 CRJ200 by JRollon FSrealWX + RealTerraHaze Sceneries: Simheaven.com alpilotx.net Denver Intl; commercial by TomCurtis RE: TA2271 DEN BZN - Snowboss - 11-03-2014 Nice report & photos, Stefaan. Even with the 737ng's I do pretty much a manual descent using the old 3-1 rule. Say I am flying at FL380 and I need to descend to 8000 feet, then drop the zeros, 38-8=30, then 3 X 30=90. So I would start the descent at 90 miles out. If I have a tailwind I would add miles and a headwind I would subtract miles. Sometimes VNAV just is not real accurate on descents and manual mode gives me sometime to do! LOL I also do some manual climb outs, but on departures it can keep you pretty busy at large airports so VNAV/LNAV can be a big help for a pilot that is about 76 years young! RE: TA2271 DEN BZN - freddy - 11-03-2014 Hi Stefaan, Just wanted to say once, thanks for all the great pic's that you share with us. It's always a great pleasure to see this great shots. It's indeed nice Sandy to keep a bit busy this way, I also kinda like to keep up ahead with what the aircraft is doing. Another one of the reasons that the 727 and 732 are amongst my favourites too for short and busy hops (11-03-2014, 06:44 PM)freddy Wrote: Hi Stefaan, Thanks Freddy ! Groeten - Stefaan ;-) |
