Some of us make use of this great site. Up to now it is free, but from August 1st we have to pay a little license fee. Don't worry, as of now it is less than 1 USD per month. I personally can understand this, as the guy that provides us with such a nice program surely has some server costs among other things. So, it now is up to you to take the 'proper' action.
Find out more here: http://www.fsxtracker.com/license
BTW, it also works with P3D

Advice for Airport Elevation Problems

.

These can be caused by a number of things:

- Conflicting AFCADS (i.e. too many for the same airport)

- Incorrect airport elevations in an AFCAD

- Poor Flatten settings

- Conflicts with mesh and generic scenery addons like UTX, FSGlobal etc. in your specific area.

.... and some others too ;-)

Finding the culprit is a matter of trial and error.

Simple Airport Scanner. It is a nifty little tool that lets you find add-on airports in FS9/FSX and P3D. It will also identify where the same airport is in more than one bgl file.

It will identify addon airports and can be very useful for finding duplicates. It displays the results in a way that shows the priority order of loading in FS.

You can then deselect the 'other' files until you find which was causing the issue at your problem airport.

DO NOT delete them, I suggest temporarily renaming the file(s) one at a time to whatever.bgl.OFF then back again if it didn't cure the problem.

You can download it here:

http://www.scruffyduck.org/download/i/ma...canner.zip

or an earlier similar tool which does show default scenery - Airport Scanner:

http://www.scruffyduck.org.uk/files/airp...er_100.zip

If you have FTX GLOBAL VECTOR installed it is also worth using the "FTX GLOBAL VECTOR Configuration Tool" to disable the airport elevation for the airport you are having the problem with.

Hello, Crew:
I'm gradually switching over to FSX and buying airport scenery. I had the ImagineSim scenery for TJSJ and MYNN on FS2004 and really liked it. But, when I tried it with FSX, I ran into lots of problems. The main thing is that the textures disappear at night. I've got other add-on scenery that's fine at night. I'm running an Acer 64-bit machine with an Intel Core i7-2600 processor and an AMD Radeon 6570 video card.
ImagineSim hasn't been any help.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If there's other scenery out there for those two airports [kind of crucial for us at TCA!] that would be great, too.
Cheers,

In the Carenado payware C208 the panel and interior are virtual, not 2d. I downloaded the TDM and TL textures but there is no color on the panel nor the interior. What needs to be done?

Gentlemen, I just did a Windows upgrade check of my Win7 Pro 64 bit system to Windows 8. The return list of what works and what doesn't didn't show anything about flight simulator or addons. Does anyone have experience with this upgrade? If so, how did it go for you?

I'm running an AMD 955 3.2 gHz 4 core processor, 8 gig of RAM, Nvidia 470gtx video and all the bells and whistles I can stuff into FSX. It works perfectly on my present system. So why upgrade? Good question. It looks like Microsoft is quickly trying to end life with Windows 7 and get the world onto Windows 8. My guess is to get more people who use tablets, notebooks, and smart phones using Windows as well.

I stuck with XP for 12 years and now with Windows 7 only a little over 1 year in my pc I'm not 100% sure about another upgrade. Perhaps you can sway me to one side of the fence or the other?

Thanks,
