Again a long stretch over the Tasmanian Sea, so I opted for a multi-engine airplane.
And a very beautifull vintage DC-6B, N37568 United was awaiting us at the apron.

All fueled up, engines and systems running and ready to leave Nelson NZ

Climbing out over the bay...

Overhead some of New Zealands' South Island peaks before we start the crossing of the Tasmanian Sea.

The whole stretch gave us rather heavy clouds and pretty strong winds.

Arriving over Australia again, the clouds got a bit less dense with milder winds

Our Destination, Moorabbin...

Turning base for a manual approach to RWY 13R
This vintage bird is such a joy to fly by hand, such a rewarding feeling of controlling a big airliner from the golden age of Prop's accompanied by a heavy sound coupled to my Dolby Surround with subwoofer Clapping

All clear for landing

... and leaving the runway

Arrival at Moorabbin, time to let the guests out...
Then... debriefing with the stewardess Scool

Total block to block time: 5 hour 40 minutes

Flown using:
Microsoft Flight simulator X
JustFlight DC-6 Legends of Flight ( http://www.justflight.com/articles/new-d...ight-video )
Active Sky 2012 for weather
Scenery: FTX/Orbx NZ South Island & AU YMMB airport

Wow Stefaan.

Very impressive report with a great aircraft. I think PMDG is working on a DC-6.
